  • Dr. Spencer Mauseth

    Dr. Spencer Mauseth is an American Board of Pediatric Dentistry certified pediatric dentist. He earned his doctor of dental surgery degree from Creighton University School of Dentistry and graduated cum laude. Dr. Spencer went on to complete his residency at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, where he served as chief resident. While attending dental school, Dr. Spencer received numerous top honors and awards for ethics, patient care, clinical abilities and academia. Among these awards was the school’s top honor, the Dr. and Mrs. Philip J. Maschka award. He also became a member of the prestigious dental honor society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon after his graduation from dental school.

    Dr. Spencer is very active in the dental community and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. He loves working with people, especially children, and is known for his commitment to teaching patients and their parents about the science and art of cavity prevention.

    In Dr. Spencer’s free time, he can be found spending time with his wife, Melodee and their five children. The Mauseth family enjoys running, reading, skiing and riding bikes.

  • Dr. Kristen Whetsell

    Dr. Kristen Whetsell is a Southern California native who graduated from UCSD with a bachelor’s degree in human biology. She went on to dental school at the University of Maryland, Baltimore and graduated magna cum laude. Dr. Kristen completed a general practice residency at the VA Medical Center in La Jolla where she provided dental care for veterans.

    Dr. Kristen is actively involved in the local dental community and is on the board of directors for the San Diego County Dental Society. She also has a passion for humanitarian work and volunteers for the UCSD Free Dental Clinic Project and has participated in USNS Mercy humanitarian mission in Southeast Asia.

    As a dentist, Dr. Kristen values cultivating life-long relationships with her patients and believes that there is no one size fits all approach to dental health. She is passionate about giving patients personalized attention and treatment plans.

    In her spare time, Dr. Kristen loves spending time with her husband, Ian. She also enjoys hiking, stand-up paddle boarding, yoga, skiing and traveling.

  • Dr. Chris L. Pham

    Dr. Chris L. Pham is a board certified pediatric dentist serving the children of San Diego. He graduated with honors from the Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco, where he is currently a visiting clinical professor. Dr. Chris is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and is actively involved in the California Dental Association, the American Dental Association and the California Society of Pediatric Dentistry. He is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, a distinction few dentists and San Diego can claim.

    Dr. Chris also plays an active role in the local dental community. He serves as a chairman for the San Diego County Dental Society, serving on the Ethics Committee. He is on staff at Scripps Hospital, La Jolla and is adjunct faculty at UCSD Medical School – Department of Preventative and Family Medicine. Dr. Chris is affiliated with, and an advisor to, Point Loma Nazarene University, San Diego State University and UCLA.

    Known for his calm and patient demeanor with children of all ages, Dr. Chris also participates in dental mission work in Vietnam, Guatemala, Mexico and other underserved areas of the world.

    When Dr. Chris is not in the office, he can often be found at the beach or on the ski slopes. He enjoys spending his free time with his wife, Katherine, their children and their two dogs.

  • Dr. Richard Grant

    Dr. Richard Grant is a specialist in Orthodontics. He received his doctor of dental surgery degree from the University of Detroit Mercy where he graduated with honors. He also earned a master’s specialty degree in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics from Saint Louis University.

    While in dental school, Dr. Grant received the Dental Merit Scholarship and an induction into a prestigious national dental scholastic honor society. In his third year of dental school, Dr. Grant completed a residency program in cleft palate and craniofacial abnormalities at Loyola University in Chicago.

    Dr. Grant’s expertise in the various specialties of dentistry allows him to fully integrate all aspects of his patients’ treatments and thoroughly discuss options and treatment plans. He is also committed to keeping up-to-date with the latest advancements in orthodontics as a member of the American Association of Orthodontics, the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association and the San Diego County Dental Society.

    In his spare time, Dr. Grant loves spending time with his wife, Carolyn, and their two children. He also enjoys skiing, riding motorcycles and biking.
